9-Year-Old Girl Has Her Dreams “Ripped Out” After Her Motorcycle Stolen on Boxing Day

A young motorcyclist was completely “devastated” after her motorcycle was stolen from the shed of her house on Boxing Day.

Her mother, Shoni Haswell, explained that the offenders broke into the shed of their family home in Redruth on Boxing Day and stole Romey’s KTM 65 motorcycle, worth around £ 2,100.

CCTV footage she said she got from the night shows the offenders breaking into their shed around 11:20 p.m. on Boxing Day and leaving with only Romey’s bike shortly after.

Shoni told CornwallLive she was “absolutely devastated” that someone had stolen the bike, especially since it was a particularly difficult time for the family due to their relationship breakdown.

“My husband and I are currently going through a divorce so we sold the pieces of the house to Redruth. So that means I basically had to start from scratch and that to happen too is just devastating,” she said. Explain.

“I had a drop in income recently because I had to close my business due to the stress of my divorce, so I can’t afford to buy another motorbike from Romey. I was really hoping we would recover the bike now but that doesn’t seem likely.

“The bike was not covered by home insurance and because it was an all-terrain bike, you can’t insure it the same way you would with a car.”

She added that Romey would be heartbroken if the bike was not returned as it had been her “dream” to race at Weston Beach Race since she was four years old.

“Romey started biking when she was three or four and was four when she got her first quad and started training with my ex-husband. She went to Weston Beach Race as a spectator and was so excited to watch the kids race, and was adamant from that point on that she wanted to run on two wheels.

“So she sold her quad and other parts to put on a motorcycle and she got one for her birthday a few years ago. This Christmas we even bought her new matching gear for when she races, but now it sucks and she had her dream ripped off. “
