Caller Tried To Trick Resident By Pretending To Be A Com Ed Rep – Chicago Tribune

The following is taken from reports and press releases from area police departments. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Battery

Daryl Westergren, 63, of the 1100 block of East Maple Street, Lombard, was charged with assault at 6.42pm on April 23 after he allegedly slapped a person following an argument in the parking lot of Portillo’s, 155 S. Route 83.

Milka Mladenovic, 30, of the 100 block of North Addison Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with two counts of domestic battery at 6.21pm on April 25.

Heist

A wallet containing cash and credit cards was removed from a secure locker at LA Fitness, 620 N. York St., between noon and 1 p.m. on April 25. A transaction was attempted before the owner canceled the cards.

Deceptive practice

A resident was called on April 22 by someone claiming to represent Com Ed who threatened to cut service because the account was believed to be overdue. A family member wisely called Com Ed to confirm the call was a deception to obtain banking information.

Medications

Rayneisha Pirtle, 29, of the 600 block of Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb, was charged with abusive support and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver at 7.06pm on April 22.

In the same incident, Arbriana Britton, 21, of the 100 block of Flintridge Drive, Rockford, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis by a passenger.

Dasaray Simmons, 23, of the 100 block of Mary Court, Bartlett, was cited for speeding and possession of cannabis by a driver at 9.59pm on April 24.

In the same incident, Nicole Garardi, 27, of the 1500 block of Sparrow Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited for possession of cannabis by a passenger.

Branden Dickeson, 47, of the 100 block of Foley Street, Bensenville, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, failure to wear a seatbelt and possession of cannabis by a driver at 7.02pm on the 26th april.

DUI

John Martini, 58, of the 3N400 block of Willow Road, Elmhurst, was charged with driving under the influence, illegally transporting alcohol in the open and urinating in public at 8.02pm on April 22.

Gerardo Anaya, 28, of the 900 block of Lebanon Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a revoked driver’s license, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, inappropriate use of the lane and possession of alcohol opened at 1:01 a.m. on April 23.

Juan Villar-Garcia, 24, of the 400 block of Inland Drive, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended driver’s license, unlawfully carrying open liquor, improper use of lanes and uninsured driving at 2:45 a.m. April 24.

Joanna Pruszynski, 26, of the 5200 block of Belmont Road, Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and improper lane use at 8.22pm on April 27.

Identity theft

A resident reported that eight fraudulent transactions were made on his LINK card by an unknown offender between April 17 and April 22.

A resident reported on April 25 that someone used her information to open multiple bank and credit card accounts.

A resident reported that an unknown suspect used his information to open a fraudulent T-Mobile account on April 26.

Breach of order

Helen Miller, 51, and Sheila Miller, 47, both of the 5500 block of Tinder Drive, Rolling Meadows, and Alex Miller, 26, of the 500 block of North Meacham Road, Schaumburg, were each cited for illegal violations of passing traders at 3:55 a.m. April 26 after he offered to do some concrete painting and repaving for a business on the 200 block of West Lake Street.

According to the police, the offenders are “known to be involved in traveler scams”. Each received a no trespassing notice.

Property damage

Four boxes of fire extinguishers were damaged and loose drywall screws and trash were dumped in Addison’s parking lot, 149 N. Addison Ave., between 3 p.m. April 22 and 8 a.m. April 25.

A resident of the 400 block of West St. Charles Road reported that several bricks were broken from a garage wall on April 13. Posted April 25.

Flight

A catalytic converter was taken from a bus belonging to the Ray Graham Association, 420 W. Madison St., between April 7 and April 21.

Three stop signs and poles were stolen from the intersection of Schiller Street and Willow Road between 4:30 p.m. April 22 and 8:20 a.m. April 23.

An unknown Hispanic man reportedly left Thorntons, 476 N. York St., without paying for gas at 5 p.m. on April 24. Surveillance video showed there were no license plates on the vehicle.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from an RV at U-Stor-It, 877 S. Route 83, between April 5 and April 25.

A Series 4 Apple Watch was reported taken from a locker room where it was left at the Elmhurst Center for Health, 1200 S. York St., at 2:45 p.m. on April 25.

Traffic offenses

Evelyn Gulley, 66, of the 500 block of Preston Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving without a valid driving licence, failing to report an accident, backing out of a vehicle onto a roadway and driving without insurance at 7:41 a.m. on April 22. .

Tiffany Jankowski, 38, of the 700 block of South Berkley Avenue, Elmhurst, was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance at 7.23pm on April 22.

Miguel Gallardo, 54, of the 3000 block of South Troy Street, Chicago, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license at 8:43 p.m. on April 23.

Lorenza Ocampo, 48, of the 3100 block of North Lotus Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, improper lighting and driving without insurance at 1:58 a.m. on April 24.

Diamond James, 29, of the 2200 block of East 82nd Street, Chicago, was charged with driving without insurance at 6:37 p.m. on April 24.

Manuel Perez-Licona, 37, of the 300 block of Yale Avenue, Villa Park, was charged with operating a motor vehicle using an electronic communication device and illegally transporting liquor opened at 9:26 p.m. April 24.

Zachary Zittle, 24, of the 300 block of Goebel Drive, Lombard, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device at 12:11 a.m. on April 25.

In the same incident, passenger Nicholas Stokes-Howard, 24, of the 1200 block of South 16th Avenue, Maywood, was cited for open possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Luis Andrade-Lopez, 40, of the 2400 block of Leslie Lane, Hanover Park, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, making an improper turn, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol opened in a motor vehicle at 12:46 p.m. am April 25.

Victoria Leal, 50, of the 2200 block of North 75th Avenue, Elmwood Park, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and failing to report at 12 p.m. on April 25.

Devonne Polk Jr., 22, of the 200 block of 153rd Place, Calumet City, was charged with driving without insurance, illegally tinted windows, expired registration, driving while his license was suspended and non-use of a seat belt at 4:44 p.m. April 25.

Collin Miller, 29, of the 4000 block of 40th Street, Milwaukee, Wisc., was charged with driving without insurance, driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with expired license plates and driving a a motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device at 8:12 p.m. on April 25.

Intrusion

Latrell King, 30, of the 1000 block of South Williams Street, Westmont, was charged with trespassing at 5.05am on April 26.
