Christopher Edward Moreno passed away peacefully on March 29 surrounded by his family after courageously battling cancer.
He was born on September 1, 1964 in Buena Park, California to loving parents, the late Vickey Moreno and Danny Moreno. Along with his father, Christopher is survived by his sweetheart and high school wife Christine Moreno as well as his two children Mackenzie and Daniel. Other surviving family members include Martin Moreno (older brother), Alisa Moreno (younger sister) Carrie Stubbe (sister-in-law), Cherese Schultze (sister-in-law), Steven Schultze (brother-in-law), James Stubbe (brother-in-law) father), Dylan Hedrick (nephew), Cailtyn Shultze (niece), Emily Schultze (niece), Cameron Braithwaite (nephew), Spencer Ledford (nephew) and Nicole Mora (niece).
Christopher moved to Placerville at the age of 7 and attended Sierra Elementary School, Markham Middle School, graduating from El Dorado High School in 1982. After graduating, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, during which time he served a faithful mission in Cordoba, Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
After returning home, Christopher returned to California where he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Moreno in 1988. Together they graduated from Sacramento State and Christopher earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with a Concentration in finance.
Chris then found success in sales, his last job at the Bank of America in mortgages. Chris loved the sport and if he didn’t want his own kids, you might catch him watching his favorite teams, the Dodgers, Raiders or Lakers. On weekends, he enjoyed biking with his wife along the beautiful trails of Northern California. Chris loved teaching the kids in his church, often bringing a favorite treat to share. Chris had an infectious smile, shining eyes and you could always hear him whistle a favorite classic rock track. Although his time on earth was too short, he will be forever cherished by his family and friends.
The funeral will be on Thursday, April 8 at the Green Valley Mortuary at 11 a.m. A private dedication ceremony will immediately follow the funeral.
