Dog shot dead by armed police after attacking woman and child – and mauling another dog to death
Armed police shot down an out-of-control dog that had attacked a boy and a woman.
The dog, a Bullmastiff-type breed, had also mauled another smaller dog to death.
Police have been called following the shocking incident in Crewe, Cheshire, yesterday afternoon.

The woman and a teenager were injured, but their condition was described as not life-threatening.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of owning a dangerously out of control dog in a public place.
Cheshire Police Superintendent Myra Ball said: “This is a distressing incident and officers have done everything they can to bring the dog under control. However, due to the immediate threat to the public and the police, the decision was made to destroy it.
“We know there were many people in the area who may have taken photos or videos or may have CCTV footage at the time of the incident.
“I urge anyone with footage or images not to share them online, but instead please send them to us as they could be essential in helping us with our investigation.”
