Memorial Day Weekend Guide – Bucks Happening

Memorial Day marks the official start of summer, but it’s also a time to recognize and remember those who have died in the line of duty serving the United States Armed Forces. Bucks County will honor our veterans throughout the weekend with events, parades and fireworks. Find all of our weekend events here. Happy Remembrance Day!


Love Food Truck & Red Angel Duo | Bishop’s Estate

When: Monday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 2730 Hilltown Pike, Perkasie, Pennsylvania

Enjoy live music, great food and amazing wines at Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery. Red Angel Duo will play acoustically from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Love Food Truck will be on site from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. There are over 20 wines to choose from and 3-5 local beers on tap for non-wine lovers. There are no subscription fees for music.

Memorial Main Street Mile

When: Monday, May 30, 8 a.m.
Where: Main Street, Yardley, Pennsylvania

Celebrate Memorial Day with a 1-mile timed run down Main Street in the Historic District of Yardley to benefit American Legion Post 317. The Memorial Main Street Mile race will start at Wells Fargo Bank (225 South Main Street) and end at the Yardley House meeting (25 Main Street North).

Memorial Day Weekend Celebration at Sesame Place

When: May 29-30
Where: 100 Sesame Road, Langhorne, Pennsylvania

Celebrate Memorial Day weekend at Sesame Place. Don’t miss the photos with Elmo dressed in festive red, white and blue all weekend. Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count von Count as their music fills the air. Watch the Memorial Day fireworks on May 29 at 9 p.m. There are several viewing areas throughout the park.

Memorial Day at the Rice Market

When: May 30, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Rice’s Market, 6326 Greenhill Road, New Hope, PA

Rice’s Market is open Saturday and Tuesday Memorial Day weekend. Rice’s is a 30-acre indoor and outdoor market in New Hope. You will find a variety of products and merchandise at unbeatable prices.

Remembrance Day Ceremony | Washington Pass Park

When: Sunday, May 29, 1-2 p.m.
Where: 1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania

Washington Crossing Historical Park holds its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday, May 29 at the Continental Soldiers’ Grave located near the Thompson-Neely House. The sighting will include a Colonial Color Guard, fife and drum music, Revolutionary War re-enactors, veterans and other honored guests – with the opening address delivered by the veteran of USAF Frank Lyons. During the ceremony, the Daughters of the American Revolution will dedicate a plaque at the original grave of 24-year-old Captain Lieutenant James Moore.

Remembrance Day Remembrance | Washington Crossing National Cemetery

When: Monday, May 30, 10 a.m.
Where: 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania

Participate in a Memorial Day memorial event at the base of the main flag pole at 10:00 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

BBQ and beers on the terrace

When: May 27, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Spring Mill Country Club & Manor, 80 Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, PA

Kick off Memorial Day weekend at the annual BBQ and Beers on the Patio event at the Spring Mill Country Club. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat barbecue feast in a picnic-like atmosphere. Options include chicken, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, and all the toppings. There will be live entertainment with Mike Brill on guitar. Draft beers are on the list. The registration fee is $23 per person, plus taxes and tip. Children under 12 are half price. DJ Tito live at the Steam Pub

Summer kick-off at Les Vignes

When: Thursday, May 26, 5-9 p.m.
Where: Crossing Vineyards, 1853 Wrightstown Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania

Kick off the long weekend at Crossing Vineyards, with half-price Crushies and specials on light bites. It’s a great way to start your summer. Terrace seating is available and there is no entrance fee.

Cars N’ Caffeine Cruise

When: Sunday, May 29 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Oxford Valley Mall, 2300 Lincoln Highway, Langhorne, Pennsylvania

American Collectors Insurance has partnered with Simon Property Group to host “Cars N’ Caffeine Cruise-In” for the collecting community. This event allows local car enthusiasts to meet, socialize, admire beautiful vehicles and recruit new members to join the hobby or your local car club. These events will be FREE and open to the public.

Every year on Memorial Day, many CrossFit gyms, military, veterans and civilians participate in MURPH training to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation. The workout consists of a one kilometer run, followed by 300 overhead squats, 200 push-ups, 100 pull-upsand ends with another one-mile run.
