Senator Sandy Crawford’s Capitol Report for the week of March 7 – Missouri Senate

This week, the Missouri Senate Insurance and Banking Committee heard from my Senate Bill 1042, which purports to enact provisions relating to the electronic transmission of documents or notices of insurance, and Senate Bill 1063legislation that would extend the rolling stock tax credit sunset.

Too, Senate Bill 655 was passed by the Missouri Senate and is now moving to the Missouri House of Representatives for consideration. This measure is intended to cover, through the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System, emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, emergency telecommunications and jailers as public safety personnel.

Missouri Women Legislators Scholarship

The Missouri Women’s Legislative Caucus encourages young women about to graduate from high school to apply for college scholarships. The Caucus created the Graduate Scholarship Program to provide financial assistance to students on the basis of leadership, scholars, and community service. Applicants must complete an application and are required to submit a 500-word essay answering the question, “If you were a state legislator, what do you hope to accomplish and why?” A link to download the scholarship can be found at http://bit.ly/molegwomen. The submission deadline is Thursday, March 24, 2022. The group will select recipients and then host a reception in their honor on Monday, April 25 at the Missouri State Capitol. The scholarships will be presented to recipients in the Missouri House Chamber. For more information, contact 573-751-4787.

I’m honored to be your senator in the Missouri Senate. If at any time you have any questions, concerns, or ideas regarding state government, please do not hesitate to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or [email protected].
